Karen Hays is a Regional Reentry Specialist with the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. She has worked extensively in various departments for more than 16 years in the field of Corrections.

Karen believes that re-entry creates the opportunity for a person to contribute positively to their family, community and society.  A part of her role is to find resources in the community then create an individual plan based on the needs of the person that is transitioning back into the community.  Karen also worked as an early learning educator for many years working with children of different ages and grade levels.  She enjoys reading and singing in her free time.

Karen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland.
