Melissa Wilder

Vice President

Melissa Wilder is a veteran of the United States Army and brings experience in entrepreneurship, business management, and leadership to the Washington County Commission for Women.

Melissa has served in many leadership and training roles throughout her career. In 1999, Melissa joined LegalShield. As an advocate for small businesses, especially veteran and women owned businesses, she was named the Home Base Business Champion of the Year from the Small Business Administration in 2011. In 2013, Melissa joined the corporate team with LegalShield serving as the Senior Vice President of Business Solutions Field Sales and Training.  It was during these years that Melissa realized that the traditional sales pitches and processes were not effective for the company sales teams, and started to transform the company sales trainings into Unique Techniques #theWilderWays.

Melissa founded and chaired a new division of LegalShield named Ladies of Justice.  Today, she proudly serves as the Senior Network Vice President, Small Business and has been recognized as the 2020 International Trainer of the Year for LegalShield.

In addition to her role on the Commission for Women, Melissa is also the Treasurer of the Professional Business Women’s Association, West Virginia.

Melissa resides in Hagerstown, Maryland.  She is married and has two daughters and 7 grandchildren.

I believe service to many leads to greatness. I proudly use my experience from the field and the boardroom to inspire, empower, and motivate others.
